Returning to Adelaide exclusively at David Roche Gallery, Salon des Refusés, features over 50 remarkable portrait and landscape paintings. Known as the popular alternative to the esteemed Archibald and Wynne Prize at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Salon features work not selected for the official exhibition but rather those recognised for their quality, diversity and experimentation, offering insight into contemporary art practices, different approaches to portraiture and responses to the landscape.

This year’s selection features two South Australian artists - Robert Hannaford and Stewart MacFarlane - in the mix of works spanning self-portraits, portraits of prominent Australians and landscape works, following its Sydney season at the S.H. Ervin Gallery.

Thanks to David Roche Gallery and Seniors Card, five (5) lucky Seniors Card members have the opportunity to win a double pass to visit the Salon de Refusés 2026 exhibition valued at $30. The exhibition will take place at David Roche Gallery, North Adelaide until the 24 October 2026.
