More South Australians eligible for Seniors Card
More South Australians can now access cost‑of‑living support with the expanded eligibility of the South Australian Seniors Card program.
Under the new criteria, people aged 60 and over—and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 50 and over—who are Australian citizens or permanent residents and living in South Australia, can apply. There are no longer any restrictions on the number of hours worked in order to be eligible.
The expansion is expected to support around 80,000 additional people, helping them stay active and connected while easing everyday expenses.
Card holders can benefit from a range of savings, including free 24/7 Adelaide Metro public transport, discounted regional travel, reduced costs on heating and cooling, and savings on medical services such as dental, optical and pharmacy items. Discounts are also available for home maintenance services, fuel and groceries.
Seniors Card membership is free, with members able to receive updates and special offers, including the popular WeekendPlus newsletter.
