It is with immense pleasure that I welcome you to Adelaide Guitar Festival 2024.

Seeing the evolution of this festival since its inception has been an absolute joy. This year’s edition will energise, inspire and soothe audiences, players and enthusiasts, as we continue to connect with more people across South Australia and beyond. From international icons like Paco Peña to homegrown stars of the future like Josh Meader, there’s a pluck, a squeal and a groove that will appeal to lovers of music of all denominations.

We are so grateful for the long-standing support of Office for Ageing Well and Seniors Card, who have continued to encourage active participation in our festival, including through the Winter School Program and Adelaide Guitar Festival On the Road.

This happens to be the 10th festival for which I’ve had the pleasure of being the Artistic Director, and I have to say: it doesn’t feel like it! Each time the program comes together feels like a new beginning; the range of expression and combination of musical characters are so different year after year, the novelty still feels as thrilling as it did back in my first festival in 2010. This of course is testament to the extraordinary instrument that we hold so dear to our hearts: the humble guitar.
