First of all, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to all Seniors Card members and WeekendPlus subscribers. I can’t wait to share the delicious revolution of the 2026 Adelaide Cabaret Festival with you all.

I have loved cabaret since before I knew what “cabaret” was. As a child I was a theatrical pickpocket stealing scenes, lines, songs, costumes and names to make shows in the living room. And now I have done exactly that here. I have grabbed, stolen, pilfered and purloined the acts I love from all over, JUST for you Adelaide.

In a world that feels hopeless, desolate and irredeemable, art may be the one true voice. The scream into the void. But the void is an illusion. Darkness doesn’t always signify a futile emptiness. In the dark lies the greatest thing. An audience. Waiting. Hungry to listen, to watch. To breathe in songs, jokes, stories, and lives - leaving changed!

I truly believe this is how we change the world. Night by night. Show by show. And now I get to give this festival which we have all laboured over, to you. I get to stop the endless talking and thinking about it. And you, YOU get to do the good part. You get to do it. Eat. Drink. Watch. Laugh. Cry. Cheer. And be changed. You are now a part of a Delicious Revolution.
