Office for Ageing Well is calling for community groups and organisations, local governments, researchers, and research organisations across the state to apply for Grants totalling $750,000.

Ageing Well Community and Impact Research Grants for Ageing Well will support South Australians to live and age well through projects and initiatives bringing generations together and tackling ageism while recognising older people’s diverse social, economic, cultural, and sexual identities.

Grants for Seniors of up to $5,000 can pay for equipment and materials that stimulate activity and social engagement for older people. Up to $10,000 can be used for seniors’ cultural, social, educational, or ageing well projects. Funding will also support additional community activities during South Australia’s Week of Ageing Well, from 1-7 October 2025.

Positive Ageing Fellowship Grants of up to $40,000 will be provided for capability building projects to support older South Australians to age well and be recognised for their valuable contributions across their lifetime. Coaching and mentoring support will be provided by The Australian Centre for Social Innovation (TACSI).

South Australian local governments, Regional Local Government Associations and Aboriginal and Outback Communities can apply for Age Friendly SA Grants of up to $40,000 with local government partnerships eligible for up to $60,000.

Researchers and research organisations can apply for two Seed Grants of up to $25,000 each for research projects of up to 12 months duration and a Major Research Grant of up to $100,000 ($50,000 annually for two years) for a research project of up to 24 months duration.

In 2024-2025, research will relate to priority questions under the ageing well pillar of ‘Sense of Community – People’ of the Strategic Research Agenda for Ageing Well in South Australia.

Grant projects must contribute to delivering South Australia’s Plan for Ageing Well 2020-2025.
