Time is running out to enter Through the Lens 2026, the Seniors Card photographic competition and exhibition. With just two weeks remaining before entries close on Friday 14 August 2026, now is the time to share your favourite photographs and showcase your creativity.
Through the Lens, now in its 13th year, celebrates the skills, experiences and unique perspectives of older South Australians through photography. The competition provides an opportunity for Seniors Card members to tell stories, capture special moments and share the people, places and experiences that matter most to them.
All South Australian Seniors Card members are invited to enter and can submit up to four photographs across six categories:
- Active ageing
- Artistic photography
- Landscape & nature
- Meaningful connections
- Portrait
- Our State
New category: Our State
This year introduces the new category ‘Our State’, proudly sponsored by the South Australian Photographic Federation. From iconic landmarks and local characters to stunning landscapes and hidden gems, entrants are encouraged to capture what makes South Australia special and tell a uniquely South Australian story.
Great prizes to be won
Winners and finalists across these categories will receive a range of prizes, including Diamonds Camera, Video and Digital gift cards, ready-to-hang prints of their photo courtesy of Atkins Photo Lab, a bottle of 2022 Nirvana Reserve Shiraz, thanks to Claymore Wines and winner of the 'Our State' category will win a $300 cash prize, thanks to South Australian Photographic Federation. One finalist image will also be featured on the front cover of the 2027 Discounts & Deals Directory.
Exhibition
Winners will be announced on Thursday 1 October and winners and finalists will have their work exhibited at the State Library of South Australia throughout October.
